I Need Writing Advice From My Medium Family

By family, I mean people I don’t currently want to punch in the throat

I think I have talent! Please give me damn good advice. Photo by frame harirak on Unsplash

I have written about not wanting to focus on making money on Medium. Those halcyon days are gone. Will my husband’s Social Security wing its merry way into our account this month? We don’t know. Have we already lost half of our retirement fund? We refuse to look at it because if we don’t look at it, everything’s fine.

All of this financial terror means I need to make more money on Medium. Which I don’t want to think about every single time my fingers are merrily typing away. I need advice. I need to know how to earn at least $100 every month without obsessing about earning at least $100 a month.

According to my husband, I don’t need to make more money. I think he says this because he knows it’s bad for my mental health if I hyperfocus on Medium money. But that’s why I’m coming to my Medium family. I need to learn how to do both: make more money and not think about making more money.

February brought in $23.44. That pays for Netflix. I want to be a productive member of our household. At the end of every month, I would love to tell my husband, “Hey, I made $100, that helps make up for the lack of Social Security and our retirement fund!”.
